Robert S. Heaney is the Associate Professor of Christian Mission and Director of the Center for Anglican Communion Studies, Virginia Theological Seminary, USA. He is an Anglican priest-scholar ordained in the Church of Ireland and has experience serving the church and academy on three continents. 

He holds a Ph.D from an Irish Jesuit school (The Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy) and a D.Phil from the University of Oxford. He is the author of From Historical to Critical Post-Colonial Theology (Wipf & Stock, 2016) and lead editor of Faithful Neighbors: Christian Muslim Vision and Practice (Morehouse, 2016). He is the author of several journal and book articles including contributions to The Oxford History of Anglicanism; the Wiley-Blackwell Companion to the Anglican Communion; and Great Awakenings: Evangelical Engagements with Postcolonialism.
 He is married to Dr. Sharon E. Heaney and they have an eleven year old son, Sam.
